Introduced to Hong Kong cinema and the beautiful Michelle Yeoh by the enthusiasm of my good friend Apollo Smile, I became engrossed in this amazing film about the human condition and mortal triumph over the supernatural. I was moved by the emotional obstacles, complex motivations, and deep history that links these three women to each other and to their destinies. Underlying it all, however, was a feeling of recognition for the greatness of human nature. The strengths, weaknesses, and desires of these three powerful women are at the heart of the plot.

The jam-packed, high powered, whole hearted structure of this film ranks it on my top ten list for adventure and action films, leaving me with a feeling of great glory and excitement by the end. Even though it is well known that most action stars in HK cinema perform their own stunts and fighting, one is left in awe by the heroics, amazing martial arts, and wire stunts performed by Michelle, Anita, and Maggie ...
